What is the Storykit Video Desk?+
It's an MCP server, a connector that gives Claude access to Storykit's video skills. Once installed, you can run any skill with a slash command, like /blog-to-script, and Claude executes Storykit's editorial method on your content.
Does this replace the Storykit platform?+
No. The skills handle the thinking: scripts, briefs, plans, audits. The Storykit platform handles the making: rendering on-brand video, carousels, and images at scale. Every skill output is formatted to drop straight into Storykit.
Do I have to pay?+
No. Two skills are free with no email at all. Your work email unlocks all 30+ skills, also free. The Storykit platform itself is a separate subscription, and you never need it to use the skills.
What LLMs does it work with?+
Any client that supports remote MCP servers. We build and test for Claude Chat, Cowork, and Claude Code first.
How do I use a skill?+
Type the slash command in any Claude conversation, or just describe what you need: "turn this blog post into a video script" will trigger /blog-to-script automatically.
Can my whole team use it?+
Yes. Each teammate installs the connector with their own work email. Teams on a Storykit platform plan also get shared brand settings, so every skill output uses your fonts, colors, and tone automatically.
Why don't I see the skills after connecting?+
Start a new conversation after connecting, and check that the Storykit connector shows as "Connected" in Settings. If it still doesn't appear, ask Claude to "refresh Storykit tools."
How many Claude credits do the skills use?+
About the same as a normal conversation of equal length. Skills that read your URLs, like /video-audit, use somewhat more because Claude fetches and analyzes your pages.
